Abstract
Objectives: This study aimed at assessment of the impact value of musculoskeletal ultrasound findings on monitoring of inflammatory arthritis and their relation to different clinical activity scores. Background: Inflammatory arthritis is a group of conditions characterized by inflammation of the joints and tissues affecting any age. Historically, its evaluation relied on clinical examination, laboratory markers and radiographic imaging. The musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSK-US) has marked a transformative progression in the management of inflammatory arthritis. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study involved 75 adults and 45 children with inflammatory arthritis who underwent MSK-US examinations. The findings were compared between the two groups and correlated with disease activity.
