Abstract
Objective: to evaluate the safety and efficacy of percutaneous fixation in thoracic and lumbar spine instability. Background: Percutaneous pedicle screw technology has been widely used in clinical treatment of spinal fractures, degenerative diseases and spinal deformities with confirmed effectiveness Patients and methods: this study included 20 patients with traumatic lumbar, thoracolumbar fractures and spondylolisthesis grade zero and grade 1. These patients were treated by percutaneous transpedicular fixation. this study was conducted in Menoufia university hospitals from July 2021 to December 2022.they were neurologically free. Results: this series consist of 20 patients presented with fractures of thoracic and lumbar spine (D11-L5) and fracture pars. they were treated with percutaneous fixation. These patients were assessed preoperative and postoperative clinically and radiologically. According to VAS comparison between pre, immediate, after 6 months, It was 7.8 preoperative and became 5.95 after surgery (just before leaving hospital). After 6 months of surgery VAS was 3.9. Local Kyphotic angle (LKA) was 16.57 degree preoperative and decreased to 14.28 immediately post-operative and to 13.28 after 6 month of operation (P
