Abstract
Background: Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) has a greater lethality with substantial morbidity. Hippo pathway is important for tissue homeostasis. Objectives: To assess the role of YAP1 and LATS1 in Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC). Methods: This retrospective case-control study included 70 NMSC specimens (50 BCC and 20 SCC cases) and 40 control cases from Egyptian patients. Immunohistochemical staining of YAP1 and LATS1 was done and assessed semi-quantitatively using staining extent and intensity. The results were correlated with the available clinicopathological parameters. We aimed to evaluate the role of YAP1 & LATS1 in NMSC.
